About Me

I am an DevEx-focused software engineer based in Switzerland, with a rich experience of over 10 years in R&A development.

Who am I?

Born in Lima, Peru, in 1989 (the year of the Earth Snake), Carl Hans Peter Hardmeier, son of an evangelical pastor and a management assistant, cultivated an early fascination with science, music, and the intricacies of human experience.
His formal education began at the Pestalozzi School in Lima. In 2001, he relocated to Niedergösgen, Switzerland, to continue his studies, subsequently attending AKSA for his secondary education. He then pursued his passion for computer science at ETH Zurich, where he focused on computer vision and linear algebra. Currently, he contributes his expertise as a Senior Engineer at Varian Medical Systems, developing an unannounced product.
This website offers a glimpse into his diverse pursuits as a musician, computer scientist, social worker, leader, and husband, offering insights into the experiences that have shaped his life.

Considering the significant portion of our lives dedicated to work (40+ hours per week), it is imperative that my daily responsibilities resonate with my core values and provide a sense of purpose.

Varian Medical Systems

Software Senior Engineer

Worked in cross‑project libraries, tooling, micro‑services, deployments and system‑wide infrastructure for multiple Varian products. Pioneered migration from a legacy monolith architecture to a cloud-native architecture.

2012-2018

Reach Bangladesh

Co‑Founder/Coordinator Europe

’Project Bangladesh’ would like to finance needy children in Bangladesh free schools and thus increase their probability of survival and impact in their environment. The aim is to give the children a vision
of hope and love.
